Jeffrey Michel

Dr. Jeffrey Michel is a physician, writer and educator. He is a graduate of Rice University, Houston, TX  and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX. He completed specialty training in Cardiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School Boston, MA. Jeffrey Michel has more than twenty years experience in clinical practice, and has served as Chief of Cardiology Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Texas A&M Medical Center, Temple Texas. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Texas A&M College of Medicine and serves as Co-Director of the Cardiovascular  Institute and Vice President of Cardiology Services for Baylor Scott and White Health Central Texas.

Andrea is a native Texan who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Plan II Honors Program.

She attended University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where she also completed residency and fellowship in radiology and body imaging.

She is a partner in Austin Radiological Association.

Brent Michel lives in Raleigh, NC, where he works as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Third Wave Psychotherapy.  His professional interests include improving mental healthcare access, and better tailoring treatment to the unique needs of individual clients.  In his free time he enjoys music, rock climbing, meditation and being outdoors.

Dr. Claire Hebner joined the Board of Directors in 2021. She is a community pediatrician in Austin who founded and is the Medical Director of Lirios, a free clinic for uninsured children (www.liriospediatrics.org). In 2021 she received the Frist Humanitarian Award from South Austin Medical Center.

Mary Keenan is a priest serving at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Austin. Prior to that, she enjoyed more than 25 years in the nonprofit sector as a fundraiser and strategic planner working for organizations that address homelessness, healthcare access, education, poverty transformation, immigration, family violence, and public policy. Mary is married to Edmund Fitton-Brown and has two children – Asher and Maggie.
